In electric locomotives, traction power is derived from the overhead catenary line of 25 kV AC. Traction transformer is used to step down the 25 kV AC line voltage to drive the traction and auxiliary circuits. Oil Cooling Unit (OCU) is used for cooling of heated transformer Oil.
