DC Traction Motor driven Electrical Locomotives require “On Load Tap Changer” (OLTC) to control the tractive efforts. OLTC gets connected towards 25kV side of Traction Transformer and provides traction power in 32 steps to operate the locomotive.
“Tap Changer Production Unit” was acquired from Bombardier Transportation (now Alstom).
